Making Water Sense

Safer, Cleaner, Better Water

What’s in Your Water?

This is a question you should be asking yourself. While most of us know that there are the standard EPA reported elements in water such as minerals, chlorine and so forth, reports are now cropping up that an unknown number of other contaminants have been detected in the water tables and water supplies of many states. This article is just one example of a shocking trend with our water supplies:

“The Initiative identifies its top concerns for the Great Lakes as invasive species, water quality and chemical pollution from drug-related compounds.

Mayor Heartwell says people are improperly disposing of pharmaceuticals and personal care products by flushing down drains, and chemicals from those drugs are increasingly building up in the Great Lakes. He says the producers should be held accountable for their disposal, and environmental testing should be required before drugs can be licensed.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated situation, as the video (link to video below) from CBS News shows.

Drugs in Water

The fact is folks, that our water supply is becoming contaminated and if we don’t do something about it, conditions will only worsen. I’d urge you to contact your local representatives to find out what they plan to do to arrest and solve this situation.
